Hi, my name is Laura.
I joined Stellar Fitness around November 2016. I had just had my first baby and I was keen to get back to my before baby self. I’ve always been interested in maintaining a healthy weight and since having a baby, exercise has been ‘my thing’. It’s usually the only time that I take for myself in the day and it’s what makes me me. Now that I’m a mother it’s become really important for me to have my own identity.
When I heard about the 12 week challenge in March this year, I was really keen to get on board because I had set myself a deadline of my daughter’s first birthday (July 2017) to be back to the old Laura.
I found the challenge really fantastic. I’m someone who really needs the accountability of weigh ins and I also really love ticking things off and lists, so the points system worked very well for me. I was shocked when I came first place, it was so nice to be rewarded for all my hard work.
I love to play football (gaelic and soccer) and staying fit so that I can keep up on the field is a big motivator for me. I find team sports fantastic for making me commit and I think the same can be said for Kat’s classes, the strong community presence makes you feel like part of a team.
I remember reading that feeling physically stronger makes you feel mentally stronger as well as physically stronger. Since starting the fitness challenge, it has felt really awesome to be stronger, I value that in my work and personal life, which is another big driver for me.
I am looking forward to the next challenge, I can’t recommend them enough, thanks Kat.
